MONTGOMERY, Ala. —  Nico Collins will let Georgia be the last school to try to make up his mind.

The 4-star receiver told DawgNation on Monday afternoon he has UGA scheduled in his final official visit slot in January. That will be on Jan. 29. It will be right up against his decision finish line. National Signing Day takes place on Feb. 1 for the Class of 2017.

Collins will use that trip to see Georgia for what should be at least the sixth time over the last 24 months.

The senior took his second official visit to LSU last weekend. The 6-foot-5, 207-pounder is rated as the nation’s No. 13 receiver and the No. 90 overall prospect for 2017.

Florida State will get an official visit on Jan. 13. Alabama comes next on Jan. 20. Georgia will then get his final official visit on Jan. 29.

“I was supposed to take one to Alabama with my last official visit,” Collins said. “But then I told (Georgia) I was going to Alabama on the 20th and they wanted one in January. They asked me if they could get one and I was like ‘Yeah, if you guys can squeeze one in’ and Georgia wanted the last one in January after my Alabama trip. So that’s what we did.”

Collins — a standout receiver from Clay-Chalkville High School near Birmingham — has already taken an official visit to Michigan. That trip went very well for Collins and he has considerable family ties to Michigan.

That said, he stated that he doesn’t have a leader right now.

Perhaps one encouraging element for Georgia fans to consider regarding Collins is he has been in the Georgia “SICEM17” group message chat for quite some time. That text thread is populated with the team’s commitments but also biggest targets in this year’s class.

“They keep telling me to come over there and I can be a major factor at receiver,” Collins said.

Collins checks in as the No. 5 target on DawgNation’s rating of the five most important undecided targets that UGA is chasing for the Class of 2017.
